Bitget Security Guide: Protect Your Account

The biggest risk to your crypto isn’t the market — it’s a compromised account. Most losses come from phishing, weak passwords, and reused credentials, not from the exchange itself. Here’s how to protect yourself.

1. Enable two-factor authentication (2FA)

Use an authenticator app (Google Authenticator or Authy), not SMS. SMS can be hijacked via SIM-swap attacks. In your Bitget security settings, bind an authenticator app and store the backup key offline.

2. Set an anti-phishing code

An anti-phishing code is a phrase that appears in every genuine Bitget email. If an email claims to be from Bitget but is missing your code, it’s fake. This single setting neutralizes most phishing attempts.

3. Use a strong, unique password

• At least 12 characters, mixing cases, numbers, and symbols.
• Never reuse a password from another site.
• Use a password manager to generate and store it.

4. Set up a withdrawal whitelist

Restrict withdrawals to addresses you’ve pre-approved. Even if someone gets into your account, they can’t send funds to their own wallet.

5. Learn to spot scams

Bitget will never ask for your password, 2FA code, or seed phrase — and never DMs you “support” on Telegram first.

Common scams to ignore:

• “Support” agents who message you first on Telegram or X.
• Fake giveaways asking you to “verify” your wallet.
• Websites with slightly misspelled domains — always check the URL.
• “Guaranteed profit” trading bots and signal groups.

6. Practice good device hygiene

• Keep your phone and computer updated.
• Don’t install unknown browser extensions.
• Avoid logging in on public Wi-Fi without a trusted connection.

The golden rule

Not your keys, not your coins. Keep only what you actively trade on any exchange; move long-term holdings to a wallet you control.
