Fees quietly eat into returns, especially if you trade often. Here’s how Bitget’s fee structure works and how to keep more of your money.
Spot trading fees
Bitget’s base spot fee is around 0.1% for both maker and taker orders — competitive with Binance and OKX. Two terms to know:
- Maker: you add liquidity (a limit order that sits on the book). Usually cheaper.
- Taker: you remove liquidity (a market order filled instantly). Usually slightly higher.
Futures fees
Futures fees are lower in percentage terms (often around 0.02% maker / 0.06% taker), but because leverage multiplies your position size, the absolute fees can add up quickly. Factor them into every trade.
How to pay lower fees
- VIP tiers: higher 30-day volume and asset balances unlock reduced rates.
- Promotions: Bitget frequently runs zero-fee spot promotions on select pairs.
- Maker orders: use limit orders where you can to get the maker rate.
- Fewer, better trades: overtrading is the most expensive habit of all.
Don’t forget non-trading costs
- Withdrawal fees: vary by coin and network. Cheaper networks (e.g. TRC20 for USDT) cost less.
- Deposit fees: crypto deposits are typically free; card purchases carry a spread.
Always check the live fee page in your account before trading. Published rates change, and your personal rate depends on your VIP tier and any active promotions.
